What lies inside
What Lies Inside....
A holy terror seized him and he fell forward on his face, trembling and in awe as he listened. The words came, sure and steady…their truth imprinted on his heart forever:
Genesis 17:5 No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.
At the beginning of Genesis Chapter 17, God visited 99-year old Abram and spoke to him about covenant and about destiny. In verse 5, God said to /Abram “I have made you a father of many nations” and changed his name to reflect his destiny. At the time of this meeting, Abram had a son by his wife’s maid, even though God had previously promised Sara that she would bear her husband a son. Yet, God said this to him….not “I will make you”, or “I want to make you”…but “I have made you…to a man who was 99 years old, with one son and a wife decades past her childbearing years. God used the past tense, signifying something that was already established – something that had already been accomplished.
God sees the end from the beginning. He knew Abraham’s end, He knows yours…and mine. He has made each of us something – and regardless of the fact that our current situation may scream in stubborn defiance, we each do have a destiny.
Abraham’s situation was the complete opposite of the destiny God spoke to him about, but that did not deter God – and Abraham dared to believe what God said to him!
What is your situation today? What circumstances surround you? Are you going through situations that are in direct opposition to what you know God has spoken to you? Do not be discouraged and never lose faith in God. What God has made us lies inside of us – the seed of destiny is within us, and with God’s divine ability working with and for us, we will indeed become all that He created us to be – just like Abraham.
